
Acclaimed Cornish folk singer-songwriter Will Keating is thrilled to
announce the release of his latest album, A Remembered Walk.
This collection showcases Keating's signature blend of traditional
Cornish folk music with contemporary influences, delivering an
incite into Cornwalls rich history and maritime past, celebrating the
beauty of his beloved home.
The CD comes with a 24 page booklet with lyrics and thanks text, and a colourful cover art disc.
Will Keating, known for his captivating vocals and heartfelt
performances, has poured his heart & soul into every track of this
album. A Remembered Walk features a mix of original songs,
covers of local musicians songs and time-honored Cornish folk
songs, each telling a story of the land, sea, and people of Cornwall.
The album captures the essence of Cornish heritage, with themes
of love, loss, and the timeless beauty of the Cornish landscape.
"I wanted this album to be a celebration of Cornish culture and and
reflect the love & passion I have for Cornwall and its past,” says
Keating. "Every song is a piece of my journey as a professional
musician and a tribute to the incredible stories and scenery that
make Cornwall so special."
Highlights of the album include the hauntingly intense "Granite,"
which tells the story of the Royal Navy disaster off the coast of the
Isles of Scilly in 1707, and the upbeat celebratory “The Ladder,”
which is a tribute to the life of Cornish philanthropist John
Passmore Edwards. Will’s simple, but beautiful take on Cornish
favourite the White Rose will bring tears to many, and the title track
"A Remembered Walk,” a song of hope, written during the first
lockdown, will stir the souls of the listeners and featuring Will’s four
daughters on backing vocals. “Kerenza Sen Nonn,”written and
sung in the Cornish language is a love song from Mother to her
new born, written at St Nonna’s Church Alternun.Keating’s collaboration with local musician friends adds an
authentic touch, ensuring that the spirit of Cornwall is vividly
brought to life, with tracks featuring The Oggymen and Phil Beer.
